I selected this program and education abroad opportunity because I am an aspiring future global business leader who firmly believes in the educational benefits and global awareness obtained from participating in study abroad opportunities. My time in South Africa has been nothing short of an experience. Everything has been amazing, from our 24-hour flight and 27 hours in the air, to our arrival with South Africa’s affluence and location. Our visits so far have allowed me to gain more knowledge on what makes South Africa so successful in operating domestic and international businesses. Having the opportunity to travel and explore the challenges and possibilities of conducting business in South Africa has provided me with valuable corporate exposure and insights. These past two days have been jam-packed with awesome activities, lessons, and excursions. Anyone reading this now that’s thinking about South Africa or any other faculty-led abroad programs, don’t forget studying abroad is always a great idea! Experiencing the culture and what makes a place, so special and unique is one of the best things about going abroad. From adjusting to the time changes, transportation, and even how they navigate life, it?s always something new to learn and see. So many notable takeaways just in the past few days have allowed me to reflect and gain a lot of knowledge that I can?t wait to apply hereafter. I?m excited for the rest of this journey and for all the learning and exploring to come in the next week.
