This trip has been an eye-opening experience of a lifetime. Looking back, there have been so many things that I have learned and experienced that have given me a completely new perspective on the world and how it operates. Barcelona is a unique place filled with a lot of exciting things to discover. From my time here I can say that my favorite part of the city is certainly the gothic quarter. This part of the city is entirely unique. Small winding streets seem to ebb and flow randomly with no sense of direction. Very different than streets at home that are always designed to be as efficient as possible. Meandering through this part of the city is most certainly a good time. The food is also top-notch. Coming into the trip I did not really know what to expect about the food. My expectations were wildly blown away. The paella must be some of the best food I?ve ever had. The combination of rice, shrimp, mussels, and butter comes together amazingly. Other than the food, the landscape is another truly amazing part of this city. On the last Friday, me and my roommates took a trip up to Tibidabo, the highest point in all of Barcelona. The view was breathtaking, from the Sagrada Familia to the shoreline, Barcelona offers a truly unique skyline that is amazing to behold. Another amazing aspect of the city is its love of art. Gaudi is everywhere in the city. If there is one man who is responsible for how Barcelona feels today it is him. The city loves art more than any other city I’ve been to. Every street is teaming with independent galleries and exhibitions showcasing local Catalan artists. This aspect brings a unique feel to this wonderful city. I can truly say that I have loved every moment of my time here.
