Barcelona is such an amazing city. Within the first few days, I was in love with the energy of the city and the lifestyle of the people that live in it. It has always been a dream to study abroad in Spain for me and now I get to bring it to reality. After the first week went by so quickly it makes me sad to think that we?re only here for three more, but then I think of all of the new things I?ve experienced and learned. In only four short days of the program, I?ve explored Barcelona?s beautiful architecture, mouth-watering food at local cafes and restaurants, and the scenic views at the top of historical sites. I was able to learn about the impact of Antonio Gaudi?s fascinating Casa Mila and awe-inspiring Sagrada Familia, try out the best places with amazing local cuisine and adapt to how meals are structured throughout the day, and see the entirety of the city from the top of Montjuic and the Bunkers del Carmel. Diving into the language and the culture didn?t come as too much of a shock to me because I studied Spanish all four years of high school and I?m now minoring in it at A&M. Instead, I have used it as an opportunity to learn as much as I can and continue pursuing my minor and certificate in International Business Studies. My dream job is one where I can travel and work in countries all over the world. Living in Barcelona for a month and learning about international business is a unique experience and massively helps me take the next steps toward getting my dream job. I feel very lucky to be in such a beautiful country taking classes at such an incredible program and university.
