I arrived in Africa on May 25th, 2022. My first travel day included a trip to Victoria Falls, in Zambia. Victoria Falls was a breathtaking experience that made Zambia that much more remarkable in my mind. After Victoria Falls we were able to attend a safari in Zambia where we had the opportunity to see rhinos (which are going extinct), elephants, monkeys, buffalo, crocodiles, giraffes, and so many other animals in their natural environment. The country of Zambia is a fascinating yet hidden country which has been a memory that I know I will remember forever.
Before our trip, we studied the management and accounting of African safaris and it was very eye-opening to see the struggles and the behind-the-scenes of safaris and then getting to experience them firsthand. They are definitely a struggling industry but they also hold a very important place in the African economy.
The people of Africa have been some of the most genuine and kind people I have ever met on my travels. The African people have helped to make this trip so much more treasurable and they have a culture that I believe everyone should experience.
