My initial impressions of my trip to Antarctica are nothing short of wondrous. As I was travelling outside of the country (or outside of any country for that matter) for the first time, I was thrilled to let my first trip be to one of the most extreme places on the globe. During our brief time in Tierra del Fuego, I was able to enjoy the experience of being surrounded by a culture so foreign yet so familiar to mine. The cruise through the peninsula was also lovely as I was able to get a sense of scale of the world we live on and how we affect it. I gained a deeper appreciation of the natural world and an expanded sense of belonging on this pale blue dot. I would recommend this experience to anyone and everyone that is able to do so.
