If I could describe Singapore in 3 words it would be Wealth, Flora, and Culture. Although it is such a small country, people from all over Asia are visible everywhere you go. The most prominent culture is Chinese, with the rest being Malay, Indian, and others. Technology has played a very important role in the development of the country. The infrastructure of Singapore is admirable. The buildings, the public transport, and the amenities of the city all work together to make an efficient environment. During the first week in Singapore, I would see at least 2 luxury vehicles, ranging between $400,000 to $1m. There is so much wealth in this country and it is very noticeable everywhere you go. From seeing people wear expensive clothing to walking around malls full of designer stores to taking pictures of million-dollar cars. Now moving on to talking about the vast amount of flora there is everywhere you go here. Lots of buildings have plants and even trees growing from them. It is green and very clean in almost every street you walk. The weather does allow for this flora to grow and maintain its form, however, the humidity and the heat sometimes make it really hard to enjoy the outdoors for too long. The scenery is mind-blowing and Singaporean citizens work really hard to maintain the beauty of this country. People really care about this country, and it shows! Finally, I wanted to mention the food. Wow, I can’t believe how cheap it is to eat here. We have visited multiple Hawker Centers, which is like a food court, where lots of locals sell the food from their culture. You get many options to choose from, and most meals range between $3-$6 SGP. You get a lot of food and various different tastes in just one central location. Something that I wanted to point out is that in these Hawker Centers, they don’t really sell their food with beverages. You have to go to a different place to buy a drink or a juice separately. It is also really hard to find free napkins or knives at these places. Overall, Singapore feels really safe and now I know why it is one of the most developed countries in the world right now. Their way of doing things is very clever and it works hand in hand with the advancement of society.
