I had a great time this last month in Spain. It has been super busy between taking two classes, exploring the city, and travelling. The highlight of my journey was undoubtedly the food. Tapas became my obsession, and I’ve had some awesome dishes like Gazpacho, monkfish, and cuttlefish. I even got to cook food
Beyond the food, Spain’s rich history and vibrant cities captivated me. I had a blast exploring Sevilla and Madrid, admiring the stunning architecture and soaking up the lively atmosphere. Immersing myself in the Spanish language, I talked to a number of the locals and tried to only speak in Spanish. I even took a local girl on a date and she showed me one of her favorite tapas bars in Castelldefels.
One aspect of my trip that surprised me was the country’s dedication to sustainability. Our group had a wine tour and got to try the local Cava, and we also visited The Damm Beer Factory. When we visited the Port Authority of Barcelona we learned about the green energy policies of the city and nation, highlighting the importance of environmental consciousness.
My time in Spain left a lasting impression on me, and I’m definitely going to miss it here. The nocturnal culture with naps fits my natural sleep schedule, and I really enjoyed roaming the streets late and eating dinner late at night.
