Greetings from Croatia! As this first week abroad comes to an end, I value this opportunity to reflect on my experiences. In the coming week, I will be traveling to both Slovenia and Italy. However, thus far, I have spent all my time exploring the beautiful country of Croatia. During my study abroad experience, I have gotten to visit the wonderful towns of Dubrovnik and Split. In Dubrovnik, we got to walk the historic city walls, which total 1.2 miles in length. These walls protected the citizens of Dubrovnik during many foreign conflicts, including the Croatian war for independence. In Split, we got to experience a Croatian island cruise. This cruise gave us insight into the island life that the Croatians embody. Additionally, we have gotten to taste the most exquisite Croatian cuisine. From cuttlefish risotto to grilled sea bass, everything has been absolutely delicious!
While traveling, I have learned to value every moment, experience, and interaction I partake in. This has allowed me to gain insight into the vast cultural differences that exist across cultures. Going forward, ?I hope to maintain a global mindset and consider my international experiences in all relevant decisions. For now, I am looking forward to continuing my travels to Zadar, Croatia; Ljubljana, Slovenia; and Venice, Italy.
Until next time, Bok!
