My last week in London was both exciting and a little sad. I am very eager and happy to return to Texas tomorrow, but I am also sad to be leaving London. I am very close with all of family and am so excited that I will be getting to see them tomorrow. Nevertheless, I am really going to miss a lot of things about London.
I have come to really enjoy spending time with my host family in England. We all eat dinner together, watch world cup games together and all talk about our different countries. I have learned so much from my host family and it?s strange that I am leaving them tomorrow after I have spent six weeks with them.
Another thing that I will miss about London is all the natural beauty. I honesty love Texas and think it is an amazing state but there was something about England that differentiated it from the states. To me, England is just so beautiful ? from the river, to the museums, to parks and palaces. I saw so many incredible places in London that I don?t think the United States quite has to offer. Besides the natural beauty, I will also miss the weather that London has had these past few weeks. Although it has rained quite a bit, it is always cool here. Getting off the plane in Texas where it is ninety degrees will be quite a shock for me.
Lastly, what I am definitely going to miss about living in England is all the weekend trips. England is close to several other countries, that it was so easy to take a weekend trip to a neighboring country by either train or plane. One of my favorite memories of my stay in Europe was taking a weekend trip to Scotland by train. I got to see some beautiful countryside of Europe that I did not have the chance to see while living in London because it is such a big city.
Although there is a lot of things that I am going to miss about the United Kingdom, I am so thrilled to be returning to Texas. I am looking forward to seeing my family and friends, and heading back to College Station for some summer school!
Cheers!
