Nearing the end of my semester here in Italy I have realized how great of an opportunity it is to be living and traveling in Europe. It is a very different place from the US, and it makes me appreciate what we have back home and what is over here. This trip may not have changed my understanding/ perspective but bolstered it. The US and Europe both have amazing things to offer while also being completely different. There is nothing like traveling to these ancient cities and seeing the wake of history they leave behind. It was fascinating seeing the amalgamation of cultures and seeing how they clash and interact with each other. At the end of the day, I highly recommend that people travel abroad given the opportunity. It is very enlightening and can open your eyes to a lot of different things beyond ruins, old buildings, and beautiful landscapes.
