It is definitely true that European countries emphasize health and the outdoors in a more natural and more prevalent way than what I am used to in the States. In regard to final reflections about what I learned, I developed a much deeper understanding of the world of finance in every aspect from attending company visits, traveling the world, learning from Dr. Sorescu, and speaking with my peers on the trip. My perspective changed while in Switzerland in that prior to leaving for this trip, I did not want to live far from my family in Texas for internships or post-graduation, but upon having the opportunity to experience international cultures and lifestyles I am strongly considering applying for internships in cities that we visited. I thoroughly enjoyed every location we traveled to and, learning from this trip, I believe the more time I spend understanding other perspectives and cultures than mine, the more well-rounded of a person I will be. I also learned more about the intricacies of interacting with people of different cultures and how to do so best, and particularly because we traveled to so many countries and cities within those countries, how each of those types of interactions differ from country to country and culture to culture.
