If you are considering doing a study abroad, I would say only one sentence. It will be the best experience of your life as you go through so many experiences, gain lifelong friends, and see some of the prettiest places imaginable in the process. For me, my experience started as I was scared to death coming off a plane not knowing who to first talk too, how my roommate situation was going to be, scared about how the classes would go, and overall just unsure about how everything was going to go.
My first experience was fidgeting with the odd keys and learning that ground floor in Italy is actually 0 not 1, then I was met with my amazing roommates that welcomed me in instantaneously, and lastly an amazing 3 hour walk around the city as my new roommates, and I got to know each other. Throughout the trip I was able to walk past beautiful scenes every day such as the Santa Croce, the Duomo, and the stunning river running through the city alongside my new friends and my new favorite thing… gelato! Additionally, I was able to go traveling each weekend seeing the Amalfi coast, Croatia, and more places in Italy such as Rome, Venice, and parts of Tuscany that even in pictures never fails to amaze me in beauty. Lastly, even though I didn’t believe everyone until it happened to me, I gained some lifelong friends, great (and funny) experiences that I would never take back, and have gained more knowledge about the world and myself through this one month trip than I ever thought possible.
