My time abroad in the United Arab Emirates provided valuable insight into how business is conducted and how individuals engage with one another in a professional and cultural setting. Throughout our visits to Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Sharjah, and Dubai, I was able to observe a range of business environments while also seeing how shared cultural values influence work life across the country. This experience reinforced many of my initial impressions while also deepening my understanding of the UAE’s business culture.
One of the most significant takeaways from visiting various businesses was the emphasis on hospitality, particularly toward employees and expatriates. Many organizations prioritize employee well-being by offering strong support systems, respectful work environments, and generous benefits. This approach fosters loyalty and motivation, which was evident in how positively employees spoke about their roles.
