I’ve learned so much from this study abroad. The history of how Australia came to be built from convicts and indentured servitude and the trials and tribulations they faced on their 8 month journey to Australia. Learning about how the indigenous people of New Zealand and the British people interacted and how they had a 30 year war was also very insightful. Seeing the beautiful views with unique trees, birds, and rocky landscapes was a sight to see. I was able to pet a koala and a kangaroo. I went go surfing and jumping waves at the beach. I’ve learned so much from this trip in regards to finances politics and other people perspective of the world. They are very climate friendly such as only using wooden or paper plates. No plastic is here and they also do lots of recycling everywhere which is good to see. They have so much Asian food here so I’m definitely getting my fill and the first thing I do when I get back to college Station is get Mexican food. There’s no Mexican food in Australia that sounds good. we got to see wallabies and emu’s and overall, this has been a once in a lifetime opportunity and I’ve had the time of my life on the study abroad. I can’t wait to reminisce on these memories and hopefully go on another one. This experience has broadened my horizons and deepened my appreciation for cultural diversity. I’ve built lifelong friendships, gained invaluable knowledge, and developed a stronger sense of independence and adaptability for future endeavors. I now feel more confident traveling internationally and navigating unfamiliar environments. This trip has inspired me to continue exploring the world and learning from different cultures. It’s an experience I will cherish forever, and I’m grateful for every moment spent abroad.
