Hola!! I don’t even know where to begin — living in Madrid truly feels like a dream. The city is vibrant, full of life, and every day unfolds in a completely new way. It reminds me a lot of New York City, only without the towering skyscrapers. The public transportation here is incredible, and getting around on foot feels effortless. Every street I wander down has its own unique charm — a new café, a burst of music, or a corner filled with laughter.
What I love most is the café culture. People sit for hours, simply talking, laughing, and enjoying the moment. There’s no rush, no constant sense of urgency — life here just feels beautifully unhurried. Madrid has this way of making you slow down and truly live.
UC3M has such a beautiful, close-knit campus — very different from Texas A&M, but I’m really enjoying the change. What stands out most is how international it is. I’ve met people from all over the world — Australia, Canada, Korea, Switzerland, and so many more. It’s so cool to sit and talk with them, to learn about their cultures, and see how different (and similar!) our perspectives can be. The classes here are structured differently, but in a good way. They’re engaging, relaxed, and surprisingly easy to follow.
Studying abroad in Madrid has definitely been one of the most unique and eye-opening experiences so far!!!
