Ciao from Milan! I’ve been here for about two weeks now, and it already feels so different from life back in College Station. Bocconi is super modern and international—everyone I’ve met is from somewhere new, which makes every day feel like a mix of cultures.
One of the biggest adjustments has been the pace of the city. Milan moves fast; people are always dressed up, walking with purpose, and somehow balancing espresso in one hand and their phone in the other. The metro system is super convenient, but I’ve found that walking everywhere is the best way to find cool cafés and gelaterie tucked into random corners.
The weather caught me off guard—humid but no A.C. anywhere—but aperitivo in the evening totally makes up for it. Sitting outside with friends, drinks, and snacks while people-watch is quickly becoming my favorite part of the day.
Classes at Bocconi are definitely more independent than back home, but it’s been exciting to study alongside students from all over the world. I’m still figuring out my routines, but so far, Milan has definitely lived up to the hype.
