I have learned a lot about the many steps of business over in Spain. I learned about e-commerce and how useful it is for small businesses to find clients. I have learned about CRM and what it takes to get in contact with potential clients and I learned about networking as a small business.
E-commerce is very useful for a small business both in the US and abroad. I found that e-commerce in the US and abroad seem similar in their marketing tactics with using google analytics and google ads. I think that there is a lot of potential doing business abroad compared to the US. The only problem with doing business abroad is there are higher taxes like in Spain. My boss told me that income is 60% taxed for government purposes like healthcare and other social services. My boss said that business is much harder to maintain here in Spain because of high taxes compared to the US, so there are some downsides to doing business abroad.
Obviously, another difference in Spain compared to the US is that most business is conducted in Spanish. Something to learn from this is that if I were able to hone my skill in speaking Spanish, I think that I would be able to create a competitive edge for my future business in the US and it would definitely separate me from the competition.
Overall I’ve had a great experience in Spain and I wanna thank my boss for being a great mentor and friend while I was here.
