Howdy!
Mi nombre es Grant, and I am thrilled to share with you some highlights of my incredible experience thus far as a member of the Faculty-Led Spain Business Program in Barcelona, Spain! First and foremost, it is important to note that this city is rich in culture, history, and beautiful architecture. Everything, from the style of food to the convenience and safety of public transportation, is completely different from anything I have ever experienced.
To study abroad means to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience to learn from and in another country and culture. Since arriving in Barcelona, I have had the opportunity to meet and befriend some incredible fellow Mays students. In our classes, we are often split into groups where I get to work with these amazing people and sharpen my communication and teamwork skills. In addition, our assigned presentations have challenged me to be a more engaging and professional speaker. One of my favorite aspects of our trip is the business visits we’ve taken, where we got to witness the operations of local and international businesses.
Outside the classroom, I have had an absolute blast seeing all the sights and sounds of Spain. I am not joking when I say that I have had a pastry with my breakfast almost every single day. The chocolate croissants here are incredible! That, paired with the gorgeous scenery of the beaches, rolling hills, and classical architecture, helps make sense of why this city is one of the top 10 international tourism destinations in the world. As I walk (and oftentimes jog) through the small, beautifully constructed cobblestone streets, I can’t help but be in awe of the thought put into designing every balcony, street corner, and plaza. I am truly grateful for the Center for International Business Studies and their organization of this extravagant adventure. Below you can see photos of the fun times, friendships fostered, and memories created thus far in Spain!
Gig’em and Ciao!
