Spending the past month in Barcelona has been one of the most enriching experiences of my college journey. From the moment I arrived, I immediately noticed the city’s vibrant energy and lax culture. Every street feels like an adventure with plenty of history, culture, and good vibes.
One of the highlights of my time here has been visiting the Sagrada Familia. Seeing Gaudí’s masterpiece in person was surreal and the intricate details of his architecture are even more breathtaking than I could have imagined. I also loved touring the Estrella Damm brewing factory, where I got a behind-the-scenes look at one of Spain’s most iconic beers and, of course, enjoyed some samples afterward!
Beyond the landmarks, I’ve fallen in love with Barcelona’s food. From tapas and gelato to fresh seafood and authentic Italian pasta, every meal has been a new adventure. Sharing these meals with the amazing friends I’ve met here has made them even more special.
What I’ll cherish most, though, is how much I’ve learned and not just about Spain’s culture and history, but about myself. Living in a new country, even for just a month, has pushed me to try new things, step out of my comfort zone, and connect with people from all over the world.
As my time here comes to an end, I’m leaving with new friendships, unforgettable memories, and a deeper appreciation for traveling and cultural exchange. Barcelona will always have a special place in my heart.
