Howdy!
I have had the opportunity to be in the amazing city of Barcelona for over two weeks now, and it has been nothing, but an experience of a lifetime. Spain is full of deep history, rich culture, and wonderful food. This is my first time in Europe and I truly have enjoyed every minute of it. When I first signed up to do this study abroad, I really had no idea what I was diving into, but I can tell you I’ve had the chance to learn so much.
I’ve learned how to navigate the side streets of Barcelona, and find delicious pastries in random shops. I can tell you where the metro is, which is a life saver when class starts at 9:00. I’ve had the opportunity to meet some incredible fellow Aggies during my time here, and it’s been such a rewarding part of the experience. Whether we’re playing sand volleyball at the beach, giving presentations on the EU and its monetary system, or just enjoying a dinner together, these moments have been such a blessing. Barcelona has truly opened my eyes to a part of the world I had barely considered before coming here. The lifestyle is unlike anything I’ve known in the U.S.—dinner often doesn’t start until 9 p.m., there’s no such thing as rushing, and seeing someone with a to-go coffee would honestly be surprising. The views and castles are truly breathtaking, and the parks situated inside the city are a site to see.
I am truly grateful for the incredible opportunity to study abroad—an experience that has already taught me so much and created memories I’ll carry with me long after these four weeks. Thanks to the Center for International Business for making this journey possible, I’ve been able to immerse myself in a new culture, learn firsthand, and experience a new part of the world. I’m excited and eager to see what the next two weeks have in store!
Adios and Gig ’em!
