Studying abroad has been nothing short of transformative. The world is truly a beautiful place, and getting to connect with people from all walks of life and diverse cultures has opened my eyes in the best way. I’ve learned the value of genuinely connecting with people who are different from me. One of the best ways to love someone is to care about what they care about. As Carl Rogers once said, “What is most personal is most universal.” I’m incredibly grateful for this experience. In just one month, I made lifelong friends, created unforgettable memories, and grew so much as a person. While I’ve traveled as a tourist before, this was the first time I fully immersed myself in another culture, and it made all the difference. I recommend studying abroad to everyone. It teaches you to be confident, independent, resilient, thoughtful, and adaptable. Growth doesn’t happen in your comfort zone. So step out of it. Fly to a new country, embrace the unknown, and see what happens. You’ll come back with more than just photos; you’ll return with a new perspective, deeper empathy, and a stronger sense of who you are.
