My time in Madrid has left a lasting impact on my heart that I hope to never forget. It feels like I arrived in the Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport just yesterday. The biggest shift in perspective I experienced from my time abroad would be to focus on gratitude and taking each day one step at a time. It is easy to get caught up in the fast-paced stressful environment America cultivates, but my time in Spain reminded me to take time to also enjoy life each and every day. Witnessing the relaxed and lively Spanish culture reminded me to take in whats around me and learn how to enjoy the present rather than stress about the future. I hope to continue this mindset as I finish my degree and move onto my career. I am forever grateful for the wonderful semester I had and all of my new experiences. If I have any advice for future exchange students, live each day like theres no mañana. Also, save all your receipts because there is no minimum spend for VAT refunds. Adios Madrid!
