While on our business trip to Strasbourg, France, a group of friends and I traveled to Grindelwald, Switzerland. We got to ride a gondola up to the top of Mount First. From there, we hiked to the top of the mountain to see Lake Bachalpsee, which was definitely my favorite part of the trip. At the top, we were able to see many parts of the valley, surrounded by huge snow capped mountains and lush green valleys. On this trip I learned many valuable lessons, but the most prominent one was the importance of taking care of our environment. The natural scenery in Switzerland is nothing short of breathtaking, and locals take pride in maintaining their beautiful home. Everywhere we went we saw how much the locals cared about keeping their environment clean. From small things, such as a random person picking up trash that wasn’t there’s, to larger acts, such as groups of people tending to the luscious green fields around the town. As the world becomes more industrialized, I think keeping the Earth clean is a valuable lesson we can all keep in mind.
