Howdy! My name is Chloe Geiger, and I am currently sitting at the Zurich airport about to leave the Europe Marketing Study Abroad 2025. For the past four weeks, I have learned so much about international business, European cultures, and the people on this trip. I can’t believe it’s already over, and I am heading home.
Our business visits played an integral role in helping me understand what it looks like to conduct business internationally. We heard from many companies ranging from advertising agencies, to sports programs, to non-profit organizations. Each company that we spoke with had a unique approach to selling their goods or services and thoroughly explaining their methods of doing so. Many companies, such as Riedel Glass, Serego Aligheri Vineyards, and Bucherer are longstanding companies founded on traditions of hundreds of years. This gave a unique perspective into the longevity of specific businesses.
We also had the opportunity to talk to locals through our interview assignments. In London, I spoke with volunteers at Hillsong church. In Verona, we talked to the owners of a small leather store. In Innsbruck, we met a member of Parliament who had actually attended high school in Texas for a year. In speaking to all these people, we gained a wide perspecitive on various experiences, cultures, and views on America. The people that we spoke to were gracious but opinionated on their viewpoints. It was originally nerve-wracking to apporach someone, but as the trip went on, the interviews started occuring more naturally and being more meaningful and organic.
This trip completely exceeded my expectations in every way, and I am beyond grateful for the experience and the people that I did it with. Below I have included pictures from St. Ludwig’s Neuschwanstein Castle in Fussen, The BMW Museum in Munich, and the Monte Carlo Casino in Monaco.
