As my study abroad program comes to an end, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for this unforgettable experience and the countless memories I’ve made along the way. Since arriving, I’ve gained invaluable insights—not only about history and diverse cultures, but also about myself.
Outside of our structured class time and a handful of planned activities, we had the freedom to explore on our own. This autonomy gave us the opportunity to truly immerse ourselves, see and do everything we hoped for, and—perhaps most importantly—grow personally. Navigating unfamiliar cities and handling challenges like figuring out train systems on my own helped me become more resourceful, efficient, and confident. This trip gave me a real sense of independence and reassured me that I’m ready to take on the responsibilities of adult life.
One of the most rewarding aspects of this experience was engaging with cultures vastly different from my own. From casual conversations with a group of retired friends from the UK to forming a bond with a local kebab shop owner, we encountered so many people whose stories made us laugh, think, and learn. These interactions reminded me just how vast and varied the world is—yet also how deeply connected we all are.
Living in France and traveling across Europe has been nothing short of incredible. I wholeheartedly recommend studying abroad to anyone who has the chance.
