When I first arrived in Athens, I was greeted by a large city filled with tons of people. This town feels like it’s always on the go. From all the tourist trying to see the landmarks, to the locals living their day to day lives, Athens has been full of life. Since this is my first business brigade, I have gotten to experience not only a new country but a new program. Global business brigades has greeted us very nicely and has done a great job of showing us around Athens. I hope to see all of the rich culture and history this town has to offer. From this trip, I want to take away many things. I hope to gain an understanding of how to collaborate and work with different cultures. I also hope to experience the challenges these communities face. This will help me develop strong skills such as learning to make the most of what I am given. I hope that this trip will not only grow me professionally but personally. I am eager to see how this experience will impact my perspective on global business. One major difference I have seen between the U.S. and Greece is the economic conditions. In Greece, it is challenging for the citizens to grow and even earn a steady living. Greece faces harder challenges in the aspect of the fewer opportunities and pay. Most of Greece has to capitalize on tourism for income. Although this is only my initial impression, I am excited to see more of this city and see what it has to offer. I can’t wait to meet our clients and get to hear their stories and how we will make a positive impact in their lives.
