This trip has been truly life-changing, and it has only been one week so far! Running around and exploring the streets of London has been quite the adventure. Whether we’re trying to figure out the Tube, catching the musical Wicked, or touring Parliament, there is so much to do in so little time. In regards to Parliament, we had the honor of touring the area and learned a lot about the similarities and differences in legislation. For example, while they also follow a bicameral system, they have two houses called the House of the Commons and the House of Lords. One of my personal favorite memories is our tour of Oxford University. It was fascinating to see the differences between university life abroad versus in the States. Oxford is unique in the sense that it comprises 39 independent colleges, where students may study whatever they please. One of my favorite activities we participated in was the bike tours. We had fabulous, informative tour guides who showed us the main points of attraction in London. Additionally, Some of the other highlights of London have been the company visits and tours to Design Bridge and Partners, Chelsea Football Club, and Lloyd’s of London. My favorite was Design Bridge and Partners because, as a marketing major, they appealed most to my future career aspirations. Through their presentation, I gained new marketing strategy skills that I will apply later in my career. While we have not spent much time in any other city yet, I’m proud to report that our first night in Paris has been a success. We were fortunate enough to attend a river cruise and see the Eiffel Tower light up before our eyes. Overall, I am looking forward to many more adventures and stories with this amazing group of people. While I only just met them, there are a few I already have created lasting memories with.
