Earlier last week, 05/09/2025 the Europe Marketing Study abroad program made its first stop in London. Currently we are now In Paris, but I think starting in London was definitely advisable. Many of us enjoyed London because there were not many major differences from England to the United States. Everyone spoke English and navigating London was much quicker than France. Things that were majorly different included not having ice readily available for drinks, people driving on the opposite side of the road compared to the states, and most importantly the lack of sugar in a sweet-n-low form. All of these things made the transition surreal but nonetheless we have had and are continuing having a blast. What makes this study abroad program fantastic are the people A) leading it and B) the people chosen to represent Texas A&M. Dr Mac, Professor Phinney, and Professor Lewis have done a remarkable job ensuring the safety of each student, theft has been a guiding hand in our cultural learning, and we really enjoy their trio bond. Hannah Cole and Dr. Dan has been essential in making sure that we are where we need to be when we need to be there as well as covering logistics with hotels, travel, and finances. This program couldn’t be possible without the adults on the ground traveling with us and the faculty and staff working under CIBS, it truly is greatly appreciated. Lastly, the students make the trip memorable. We have already gained relationships that are sure to last during our college years and hopefully even more than that. I have and am looking to continue gaining knowledge of different cultures. I feel that this is fundamentally important to understand who we are as a nation and our place in this world. We have influenced many of these countries that we’re visiting as have they for us. It’s a very cool and informative experience especially for those that have not seen anything other than our states within the U.S. Border.
