Howdy, my name is Chase Moore. I just traveled to France today from England, but I have not experienced my time enough in France to write about it… so I will stick with England. For the past 5 days, we have been in London, England. We first went to Oxford and then spent our time in the city of London. During our time there, we saw some of the world’s most notable monuments and buildings. We took bike tours and business trips around the city to learn more about its history and culture. Some of the things we saw included the London Eye, Westminster Palace, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, and Big Ben. Some of the businesses we had the opportunity to go see were Design Bridge and Partners (marketing agency), Chelsea FC, and Lloyd’s of London (insurance broker). I must say, coming into this trip, I was the least excited for London (out of all our stops). However, my expectations were blown out of the water. I was very pleased with the local food, environment, history, and people. I learned more about the government of England and how it relates to the overall UK. Walking through where Parliament acts and seeing palaces where royalty live was fascinating. I did have to adjust to some differences in our ways of life though. Some things I noticed that were different include driving/walking on opposite sides of the road, Europe’s larger tolerance and acceptance of alcohol, and little to no ice or AC. Although London is different from back home in many ways, I enjoyed it. I want to continue having my eyes opened to the world on this trip by learning about other countries’ histories, peoples, stories, likes, dislikes, and passions. Seeing the world and how others live is very beneficial and allows individuals to have a broader understanding of how humans interact with one another.
