On our study abroad program in France, a group of friends and I visited the Chateau de Chambord. This was a very rewarding experience, and I got to see lots of interesting pieces of French Renaissance history, such as the double helix staircase in the middle of the chateau with the lantern tower that crowns it at the top. The panoramic view from the top of the chateau was definitely my favorite part of the visit, as you could see all parts of the estate. It highlighted how breathtakingly massive the whole property is. Getting to explore the same monument that people lived and worked in 500 years ago was surreal, and it has definitely been one of the highlights of my trip.
