Blog Post – Savanah Lambert

2025, Europe Integration and Business, Faculty-led and Field Trip Programs, Switzerland / May 16, 2025 by Mays Abroad

Howdy! I am so blessed and excited to have the opportunity to visit the span of 6 countries during this 2-week faculty program. My initial impressions of the countries we have visited so far has been amazement at how beautiful and historical everything is! I’m hoping to learn more about European cultures and to share my experiences and pictures with my friends and family back home!

Our first stop was Switzerland where we visited Zurich and Lucerne. Both cities had stunning architecture, churches, and bridges. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the cities and how the residents were always dressed super put together! It was also so interesting to learn that the majority of Switzerland citizens speak more than one language, which I feel like is less common in the United States. Through the business visit, I learned about the super relaxed office that EF has and was told about several of the factors that go into play being in Europe, such as the EU and different time zones around the world.

Our next two stops included Lichtenstein and Austria. Vaduz, Lichtenstein was a quick visit, but we were able to see the palace where the royal family lives and learn more about how heavily the country relies on Switzerland. In Innsbruck, Austria, we were able to walk the streets, see the gold roof that the King used to use, view a beautiful cathedral, and eat at several different places! I find it so cool how different the food is between the U.S. and the European countries we are visiting, but we were also able to find some American food on these days! We were also given the opportunity to visit Swarovski and learn about how the mountains in Austria have benefitted the company by providing hydroelectric power.

Overall, this has been an amazing trip so far and we still have nine days left! I’m hoping to learn even more in the following days about Croatia, Slovenia, and Italy and will update next week! Thank you!
