The Adam C. Sinn European Investment Management Program has already been rigorous and intensive, but equally rewarding and inspiring. We began our journey away from College Station in New York City where we met with various finance professionals and got to discuss their roles in the financial sector as well as their take on the economic state of the world presently. From New York we traveled to London, England. London has been the highlight of my trip thus far. We spent a few days there where we attended similar business meetings, and we also had some free time to explore the city. So far, each company has been very insightful and aided me in my career path decisions. I was pleasantly surprised by how welcoming and clean London was as a whole which has helped me rank it as one of my favorite cities I’ve visited. On my day off I went with a few friends on a bike tour around the city to see all of the monuments. That has been my favorite part of this trip. We also had a networking dinner with Texas A&M alumni that live and work in London now. Discovering a vast community of individuals who are like me made me realize that living abroad isn’t impossible. I have continued to learn that Europeans aren’t all too different from Americans. They work and have families and want to be successful just like we do. After London we made our trek to mainland Europe in Frankfurt, Germany. In Germany, a couple noticed one of my friend’s aggie rings. They thought it was beautiful. I’ve loved getting to share Texas A&M and our traditions. I am excited to continue making my mark abroad and learning from everyone I meet. I hope to continue gaining a global perspective and perhaps create relationships that will help me work in Europe one day. I have been having a great time and look forward to the rest of my trips.
