Over Spring Break, I had the opportunity to go to multiple cities in Peru with the Mays organization Christian Business Leaders. While in Lima, our group was able to visit a coffee company called Veover Coffee. This coffee company has partnered with the church of Camino De Vida, which allows them to make and sell coffee within the church. Not only were we able to ask the young entrepreneurs questions surrounding the company’s origin, production, and logistics, but we were also able to try some of their signature drinks. The man behind the business is a local native to Peru, while his wife had moved to the country from Austin, TX. When they first opened Veover Coffee, the coffee scene in Peru was almost non-existent. Coffee was sold in different cafes and restaurants, but there were no businesses dedicated to solely selling coffee. However, these business owners took a risk, and it paid off. Veover Coffee focuses on selling high-quality yet affordable coffee to the people of Peru. The company is used by the owners to make a living but also to serve the Lord. This business visit was very insightful and inspiring to many entrepreneurial minds within our group, including myself.
