When I first arrived in Oslo to study at BI Norwegian Business School, I thought there would be a large language barrier and was prepared for a challenging adjustment period. However, I was surprised to find that most people spoke English fluently from every student to even workers in the city. This made communication much easier than I expected. My initial impression that the academic environment would be similar to what I was used to at Texas A&M was also challenged. The class structure was quite different, with a more relaxed and balanced approach to learning, reflecting a broader cultural emphasis on work-life balance. These experiences have broadened my perspective, showing me that education can be approached in diverse ways, and that my initial assumptions were not entirely accurate.
