Since I was young, I have always had the privilege of being able to travel. It is a core value in my family to travel and get to know the world since most of them are from Mexico or live in different areas. However, while I have always appreciated traveling and visiting different cultures for a week or two, living somewhere is a drastically different experience. I have had to adapt and overcome obstacles that are not similar to the challenges I face at home: my luggage getting delayed at the airport for two days and not having my usual comfort items around me, figuring out the Metro and where it’s going (even if that means being wrong and getting lost at times), needing my Metropass and key card everywhere I go (or else I get locked out of my room late at night), the list goes on. But throughout all of that, I have felt myself grown and change. I have taken on a leadership role within myself, learned to be more independent, learned to go more with the flow and with what the majority wants, and learned how to navigate through different types of transportation when all I have ever been used to is driving everywhere.
So far, I have made the most of my time here. I have traveled to the Gothic square and visited the shops and cathedral, then we went to Blanes to visit the beach and the botanical gardens that are famous in the area. Below I have attached some of my favorite pictures from the trip!
