During our second week, we had our first Aggie Scavvie (a scavenger hunt) around Florence! We took pictures in front of significant landmarks in Florence and asked the locals some questions. This was a great way to learn our way around and learn more about local culture. We also made our own pasta and tiramisu from scratch for dinner one night! On Thursday, we had our first class trip to Rome. If I were to convince an Aggie to study abroad in Italy, I would start by telling them how incredible the Colosseum and the ruins are. The mere fact that the Colosseum is still standing nearly 2,000 years later just shows how innovative and advanced the Romans were for their time!
The second you step into Vatican City, you immediately feel a holy aura. The Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica are so intricately designed and beautiful. Michelangelo’s paintings inside the Sistine Chapel were absolutely breathtaking, and I wouldn’t be surprised if someone spent the whole day looking at his work!
