Deciding to go abroad was one of the best decisions I could have made. With the Europe marketing study abroad, I was able to experience so much business and culture in a short period of time. Throughout my trip, I got to travel to 7 different countries in Europe, which all shared similarities, but were also very different at the same time. Since we did not have one home area, we were able to travel to many more places than a usual study abroad. Talking with business professionals, I learned how passionate these companies were about creating quality experiences for their customers. What I noticed in Europe, is that it seems like they live a much slower paced life. For example, meals are much longer and companies give long amounts of vacation time to their employees. Companies in Europe also place a heavy emphasis on being as environmentally friendly as possible. I found it interesting that the selling points for companies in Europe is very different from that of the US. In the U.S. I feel like there is a lot more hustle and bustle in the corporate world. My experience abroad was truly life changing. While abroad, I met so many friendly individuals, who were very open about their life experiences. I learned a new appreciation for art, culture, and the creativity contained within the cities. Europe has such a rich history, and it was fascinating to learn how that history still affects the lives of so many people today.
