As my time in Taiwan draws to a close, I am filled with gratitude for the people who allowed me to take this exchange, as well as the amazing faculty at National ChengChi University.
National ChengChi University is one of the most prestigious schools in Taiwan, and has one of the largest campuses in the country, but it still feels incredibly close-knit and friendly. The campus is very active, it feels as if every day has a different event, fair, concert, or market livening up NCCU. It truly feels like an international school; I’ve met so many amazing people from all over the world, not to mention all the great people from Taiwan as well.
All of my professors have been very accomodating and helpful—I have had to leave Taiwan early due to a wedding, so many of my professors spoke with me to assist in my unusual schedule. I also really appreciate the group work they have assigned us. It gives international students a great opportunity to meet new people and understand different perspectives and methods of doing things.
I’ve fallen in love with this country like I never expected to—although I miss the USA, I still feel so much sadness at the prospect of leaving behind such a fantastic school, culture, friends, and family. I know that I will definitely come back again one day. I believe I’ll close with something I learned in Ms. Peggy-Lin’s excellent Mandarin class: 謝謝 程馳大學, 和我愛台灣!
