My time abroad was more than what words could describe. The places I saw, the people I met, and most importantly the friendships I made along the way. The italian way of valuing the simple things in life, like family, food, faith, and friendship has shown me the key to living life. My initial impressions of Italy and Malta did not show me what there was to expect. The numerous cappuccinos with friends, and the arancini snacks at every gas station in the countryside made the trip so memorable. The conversations on the bus rides and the wealth of information from Ms Guyton and our tour guide Lidija made the trip so informative and memorable.
I feel so grateful for this experience, since I got to make so many memories and experience the world in a way not everybody is able to. I would recommend the opportunity to study abroad to anyone and make the most of their time away. Talk to those people, attempt to speak the local language. Make small talk with the tour guide or shop owner. They will stick with you forever. Most importantly, the experiences along the way change you. You never know who you’ll meet and the impact they will have on your life. The friendships and experience make it all worth it.
