I wanted to share what my days usually looked like while on my study abroad, although they were unique more often than not. During weekdays when we had class, I would typically wake up around 8 and make breakfast before class to save money and personally I wasn’t too impressed with the Florence breakfast scene. After having class from 9:30 until around 11:30-12, I would go and grab a sandwich for lunch, as they were the quickest meal to purchase and eat as well as most affordable, allowing me to eat them on a consistent basis and be immersed in Italian culture. At 1 I would have class again until 3:30, and most days following class I would attempt to study to make up for the lack of class and study time on travel or weekend days. A group of study abroad students would go out to dinner around 8, which is considered early in Italian culture, so most places weren’t too crowded. The most common restaurants would be pizza since it is affordable, a large portion, and once again is immersive in Italian culture. After dinner would usually be more studying or spending time with others in the program until bed. Typically Thursdays would be a program travel day, where we would meet at the train station early in the morning to go to other cities in Italy. On those days we would grab breakfast from Mcdonalds at the train station, and upon returning from the trip go out to dinner. Every Friday through Sunday was unique from all the others, since I took different trips every time, including Lake Como, Pisa, Croatia, and Cinque Terre.
