Before boarding the 10-hour flight to Florence, Italy, I couldn’t help but think of every possible thing that could go wrong on my upcoming 30-day trip overseas. However, now that I’m over halfway through my Study Abroad adventure, I can say that my fears have yet to come true, and I feel more culturally confident than I ever thought I could be! As soon as I landed in Florence, I was overcome by the beauty just outside of the airport. It’s hard to believe that it could get more stunning than that.
Every day, I see something new and talk to a new person, which is already a big step for me. The me from 2 weeks ago would find it crazy that I am comfortable raising my hand in class and making new friends on my own. Being in a new country, let alone a new continent, made it easier to get out of my shell and learn new things about myself. I can’t wait to see what I get out of this trip, both personally and academically!
